What a journey this has been! We learned from a local resident she lived on scraps for two years, provided by an elderly woman who passed away last September. After ten long weeks of bringing meals and treats, we befriended this sweet girl and were able to rescue her using a humane trap. Since then, her scared demeanor has completely changed and her playful personality has emerged! She now seeks human companionship after years of fearing people. Journey is estimated to be 2.5 years old and weighs 40lbs. She has been spayed, is up-to-date with her vaccinations, microchipped, and went through heartworm treatment in April. Journey did not ... She likes other dogs and is very playful. Application, secure fenced yard, home visit, and adoption fee required to adopt Journey. Rescue Me ID: 15-07-15-00335RANGER (male)

Foxhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you have fenced acreage or a very large fenced yard, please read on. Ranger was spotted running across a highway nearly starved to death and with no hair when he was rescued. We believe he was a discarded hunting dog. As you see by his pictures, Ranger is in perfect health now. And just look at this stunner! Ranger is estimated to be 3-4 years old. Ranger appears to be a purebred American Foxhound. He is a submissive male who is best suited for a home with other dogs that enjoy a good romp around the yard and some tug-on-toy time. He LOVES other dogs. Ranger does not have a mean hair on his head. He would do well in an active home, ... (Read More)on a farm with other animals, or in a home with someone active that would take him on walks. You would never know he was stray because he loves people. He is highly food motivated. Ranger is great around kids. He is a tall dog and because of his size, we will carefully consider any home with small children. Ranger is fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and taking heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. He weighs 65 pounds. Application, vet reference, fenced yard (5 feet high or taller), and brief home visit required. Because of his height, we prefer Ranger go to a home with a taller fence, however he is a house dog and house trained with outside privileges. Email were4dogs@gmail.com for an application and tell us a little about yourself. Or text or call 256x665x6104 (Less)
